Charmouth Beach
A five min car ride or a 30 min walk via Stonebarrow and the coast path Charmouth is wonderful for swimming, walking at low tide and fossil hunting.
As it is flat and has no shelf like some of the other beaches it is great for toddlers, children and your four legged friends! There are dog friendly parts to the beach all year round.
Tip - If you want to avoid the crowds walk left on beach and head towards Golden Cap as it is less busy. If you want to see all the fossil beds and rock formations go at low tide and head right towards Lyme Regis.
Seatown Beach
A five min car ride or a 45 min walk via Langdon Woods and the coastal path, Seatown is wonderful for swimming, paddleboarding, a sauna at the seaside saunahaus, lunch at The Anchor and watching the sunset - or all of the above!
Tip - If you want to avoid the crowds walk right on the beach and head towards Golden Cap as it is less busy. Please be careful not to sit under the cliff face to the left (if looking at the sea) as we have had large cliff falls.
Seatown is dog friendly all year round (despite the signs!!)
monmouth Beach, lyme regis
Positioned to the right of The Cob and the harbour. A ten min car ride or a 1.5 hour walk via Charmouth at low tide, Monmouth Beach is wonderful for chilling away from the crowds, paddleboarding, BBQ’s and watching the sunset - or all of the above! This beach is dog friendly all year.
Tip - If you want to avoid the crowds in Lyme then this is the beach to head for.
Lyme Regis Beach
A ten min car ride or a 1.5 hour walk via Charmouth at low tide, Lyme Beach is wonderful for swimming, paddleboarding and being in the centre of the resort. It is great for children and toddlers and in the summer you can hire both paddleboards and kayaks. No dogs from may to September. There is however a small sandy beach by the Cobb harbour (as you walk all the way round to beyond harbour mouth) and another sandy beach close to the Marine Theatre which are OK for dogs all year round.
